2024's Grilling Gift Guide 🔥 TGD
Using Real Purchases from Real People

Ok, I have to admit. I like gift guides. I’m not great at coming up with gift ideas for people, so I find them genuinely helpful.
That’s why I sent one out before Father’s Day. Just in case you feel the same.
But I’d like to do something a little different this time. Instead of a simple list, I’m going to teach you a little about our business. And this peek behind the curtains will provide you with real purchases from real people to round out your Christmas shopping.
So, let’s explore TheGrillingDad.com’s most purchased items of 2024.

Behind TGD’s Curtain
The Grilling Dad is a full-fledged, born-in-the-USA, content business. That means we make money from our articles, videos, etc. Not enough for Adam or I to do this full time, but we make some. And 100% of that “some” comes from the website.
If you visit the site, you’ll notice we don’t have physical products to sell. We’re working on some cool ideas, but we don’t sell stuff yet.
Our revenue comes from ads and affiliate commissions. You know what ads are. Affiliate commissions, though, are payments we receive for directing users to retailers’ sites (mostly Amazon). When those users make a purchase, we get paid a very small slice of the purchase price.*
Those purchases are tracked by the retailers (again, mostly Amazon), and we get to see what items people buy.
That’s where the fun begins. In 2024, people purchased almost 4,000 items on Amazon through our affiliate links. Here’s the breakout by category. Since we’re a grilling and BBQ site, it makes perfect sense that Patio, Lawn & Garden is the largest.

And since this is Amazon, people buy a lot more than they initially come for! So we see a lot of random items. One person ordered 11 copies of Hellen Keller (perhaps a teacher?). Here are some others:

I’m digging the shirt. My 8yo is totally gonna get that for his birthday next summer 🤣. Again - real people, real purchases.
So with that, let’s look at the grilling & BBQ items that our users purchased the most during 2024. Hopefully, this spurs some ideas for your last-minute Christmas shopping or just confirms “other people like this, so I probably will too.” Enjoy!
Stuff We Use & Love:
Seasonings: Meat Church Variety Pack
Pellets: Bear Mountain BBQ Pellets
BBQ gloves: Oklahoma Joe’s Disposable BBQ Gloves
Instant-Read thermometer: Thermoworks Thermapen ONE
Pellet grill: ZGrills 700D3
Griddle: Blackstone 36” 4-burner
Most Purchased Grilling & BBQ Items
#1 Most Purchased - Pellets
I guess this should have been obvious. Besides meat, pellets are probably the most used-up thing. This brand ran away with our users’ hearts.
#2 Most Purchased - Grill Brushes
This category was absolutely dominated by one brand… Grill Rescue. Which is good, because they donate to first responders.
#3 Most Purchased - Meat Slicers
I was a little surprised that meat slicers showed up this high. But here we are! I can say for certain that the best roast beef I’ve ever had was smoked and sliced by yours truly…
#4 Most Purchased - Grill Covers
Don’t spend an arm and a leg on a new grill and leave it out in the elements. At least put a cover on it! Our users preferred the Unicook brand over any other.
#5 Most Purchased - Grills & Griddles
LOL, not sure why grill covers are #4 and grills are #5. Maybe because grills are more expensive? Or covers get replaced more often? Either way, here are a few options for you that our users went back to multiple times
#6 Most Purchased - Rubs
Raise your hand if you haven’t tried one of Meat Church’s rubs. I’m guessing there aren’t many of you. How about the runner-up, this specific Traeger flavor? Our users like it!
#7 thru #15 Most Purchased - Accessories
Instead of giving each of these separate sections, I grouped them together as “accessories”. Thanks for being ok with that! But they are sorted from most purchased (BBQ Tool Set) to least-most purchased (Pellet Bucket).
Thanks for reading. If you’ve made it this far, I’d like to wish you a Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and Happy New Year. See you in 2025. Grill on fam!
